Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to havea a license?
No. We work with both licensed and unlicensed agents. If you're unlicensed, we’ll guide you through getting your life insurance license using our pre-licensing platform. You’ll need to move quickly — we’re only looking for people ready to go all in.
What does it cost to get licensed?
If you're not already licensed, you'll go through the pre-licensing and state licensing process — and we've made it as affordable as possible. With our discount code, the pre-licensing course is just $40 Most states require additional fees (exam, fingerprinting, application), which typically total $200–$300
How much do leads cost?
There’s no upfront fee to join us, but you will need to invest in leads each week. Our leads range from $1 to $29, depending on the type and age. This is a real business, not a free hobby — the agents who take this seriously invest consistently and see results.
What commission do I start at?
Most agents start at 70% (minimum) commission, with the opportunity to increase it by 5% each month based on production. Once you reach the commission cap, you can continue to grow your income through: Overrides on your agents’ production and equity opportunities within UniTrust Financial Group This isn’t just about writing policies — it’s about building a business if you choose to.
What IMO are you with?
We are partnered with UniTrust Financial Group, one of the fastest-growing agencies in the country. UniTrust provides the infrastructure, training, and technology that powers our team at Rising Phoenix. They’re known for their integrity, culture, and transparency — and we’re proud to build under them.
Do I have to figure everything out on my own?
No — but you do have to put in the work. We provide a plug-and-play system with everything you need: scripts, training, CRM access, daily live dials, team calls, and Bootcamp the week before you start dialing to get you fully prepared. We also have a team Zoom room open all day where you can drop in, ask questions, get help, and hear from other agents in real time. That said, we don’t babysit. You’ll have the tools — it’s up to you to show up and use them.
Is this fully remote?
Yes — we are 100% remote. You’ll work from home, manage your own schedule, and run all appointments by phone (no in-person meetings, no Zoom with clients). That said, we do have a daily structure that sets you up for success: 8–11 AM: Dial leads and book appointments 11 AM–12 PM: Daily training call 1–6 PM: Run your phone appointments This structure keeps everyone moving together — but how much you get out of it depends on how much you put in.
Do I have to recruit?
No — recruiting is optional. Many agents join just to sell and make great money through personal production. But if you’re someone who wants to build a team, we’ll show you exactly how to do it, with systems in place to help you scale, earn overrides, and even qualify for equity within UniTrust. You choose your path — producer or builder — and you can switch lanes at any time
